Why We Exist
At Rooted to Live, we have seen how easy it is, especially for believers, to serve, parent, or lead from guilt, fear, or the need to prove themselves. Many know what Scripture says but have not yet experienced what it means to live as fully loved sons and daughters of the Father.
We walk with people as they uncover the lies they have believed about themselves, find healing from old wounds, and begin to rediscover who they are in Christ Jesus…chosen, forgiven, and free.

Hello, I’m Jason
For years, I lived like my worth depended on what I did for God instead of what God had already done for me. I loved ministry, but I was driven by guilt, fear, and the need to prove myself. It nearly broke me. Once I began to understand my identity as a beloved son of the Father, not a performer for Him, everything changed.
That’s the heart of Rooted to Live. We walk alongside people as they move from striving to resting, from shame to grace, from performing to belonging. Whether it is a pastor who is burnt out, a parent overwhelmed by anxiety, or a couple wrestling through disconnection, our goal is to help them find healing and rediscover who they are in Christ.
Dr. Tovey is an ordained minister and has been in pastoral ministry since 2001. He has served in a variety of pastoral roles in churches in PA, SC, NC and MI. He is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and the National Christian Counselors Association. He is a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor, and a Certified Temperament Counselor.
He has advanced certifications in sexual therapy; death and grief therapy; crisis and abuse therapy; and integrated marriage and family therapy. He and his wife have been married since 2001 and have 5 children.

Yes. While formal counseling sessions are handled through CrossPointe Biblical Counseling Center, Jason also meets with pastors, couples, and ministry leaders through Rooted to Live for mentoring, encouragement, and spiritual direction.
We never want cost to be a barrier. Some events and sessions include honorariums or donations, but many of our ministry activities are supported through generous donors who make it possible for us to serve freely.
Yes. Jason regularly speaks at churches, retreats, and conferences both locally and beyond North Carolina. He will work with each host to tailor the message and setting to the community’s needs.
